About the college
Located in the city of Nalut in the Nafusa Mountains, about 270 kilometers west of Tripoli. It was established under decision number (69) of the year 1996 under the name of the Higher Institute for Teacher Preparation in Nalut with a three-year study system. After graduation, the student is awarded a higher diploma that qualifies them for basic and intermediate teaching. The system was modified in the academic year 1999/2000, where it became four years, and the student obtains a bachelor's degree in science and education in scientific disciplines and a license in education in literary disciplines. The Higher Institute for Teacher Preparation in Nalut continued to be affiliated with the General People's Committee for Education, where the affiliation of higher and intermediate institutes became part of the education and vocational training sector. This situation continued until 1/1/2005, when the system of affiliation of all higher institutes for teacher preparation was transferred to the University of the Western Mountain under the name of the College of Teachers in Nalut. Recently, the name of the College of Teachers was changed to the College of Education in 2006, with a four-year study system.
