About the department
The English Language Department at the Faculty of Education, Nalut University, was established in 1997 for the academic year 1997-1998 in response to the increasing need to study the English language in the local and regional community. The establishment of the department came to keep pace with the expansion of higher education and its role in preparing specialized cadres in the fields of teaching, scientific research, and social communication. Since its inception, the department has been keen on developing its academic programs in line with quality standards and academic accreditation by preparing balanced study plans that combine theoretical and practical aspects and meet the requirements of the local and international job market.

I am pleased to welcome you to the English Department at the College of Education. This department is considered one of the vital departments in our college and plays an important role in preparing a distinguished generation of students capable of keeping up with scientific and knowledge developments in the field of language.
The department has been committed since its establishment to offering academic programs that aim to combine theoretical and practical aspects, enabling students to acquire the linguistic, intellectual, and critical skills necessary to compete in both local and international job markets.
The department also seeks to enhance scientific research and encourage creative initiatives that connect theoretical knowledge with the needs and requirements of society. This is based on the belief in the role of language in building bridges of communication between the cultures of peoples.

The semester system according to the decision of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. (465) for the year 2022 regarding the approval of the regulatory framework for the Colleges of Education at public Libyan universities, where the semester system has been initiated for the academic year 2022/2023.
