On the occasion of its International Day, the Colleges of Education and Information Technology in Nalut celebrate the Dhad language

The College of Education in Nalut, through the Department of Arabic Language, celebrated the International Day of the Arabic Language last Thursday, December 18, 2025, under the slogan "Arabic Language: A Bridge of Civilization and Creativity."

The organization of this celebration was the result of fruitful cooperation between the Activities Department of the college, the Activities Department of the Nalut College of Information Technology, and the Student Activities Administration of the university, which added a comprehensive institutional character and enriched the events with diversity. The opening, filled with academic spirit and pride, began with welcoming and foundational words, opened by the Dean of the Nalut College of Education, Mr. Riyad Suleiman Jernaz, who welcomed the attendees from both colleges and the guests of the celebration:

In the presence of Professor Saida Issa Al-Jarbi, the Deputy for Academic Affairs at the college,

and the head of the Arabic Language Department, Professor Radia Youssef Al-Azabi,

and the college staff. The dean emphasized in his speech the importance of the Arabic language as a vessel for thought and a vital tool for enhancing knowledge, affirming the college's role in teaching the language and instilling pride in it among students. He also encouraged other scientific departments to organize activities related to their specializations and orientations. This was followed by a speech from the head of the Arabic language department, who highlighted the scientific and literary status of the Arabic language and the department's role in reviving it through the curriculum and extracurricular activities. Educational and cultural interventions enriched the event, with the educational inspector, Ms. Nadia Askar, delivering a speech in which she emphasized the pivotal role of the Arabic language in shaping critical and creative thinking among students, and the necessity of linking technological advancement with linguistic identity. Additionally, Ms. Rabia Youssef Yahmad, a teacher of Arabic language in general education, provided an overview of the components of the language and its potentials in the era of globalization and modern technologies, in the presence of a group from the educational inspection administration in Nalut.

Competitive contests and student creativity distinguished the celebration program with its diversity and appeal, as it included purposeful competitive contests represented in: - The "Who is the Poet?" contest: which tested students' knowledge of Arabic poetry collections throughout the ages. - The debate contest: which discussed a contemporary linguistic and cognitive issue regarding the extent to which modern technologies and social media serve the Arabic language, where both the pro and con teams demonstrated exceptional skills in argumentation and persuasion. - The Arabic calligraphy contest: which revealed outstanding artistic talents in embodying the beauty of Arabic letters in their various styles. The event also featured a special presentation of short videos titled "Creative Women of Nalut," highlighting the passion of female students from the colleges of education, law, and information technology for creative writing, in inspiring examples that confirmed that linguistic creativity does not conflict with modern disciplines but rather enriches them and gives them depth. The ceremony concluded with the honoring of the winners of the competitions and the distinguished participants in an atmosphere filled with pride, affirming the success of the collaboration between the colleges and administrations in presenting a quality event that serves as a model to be emulated in preserving the Arabic language and enhancing its vibrant presence in the hearts of new generations.
